what to do in cairo, egypt
64Here are few ideas on what to do if ever you get to one of the most interesting place on earth-cairo. We spent a day there and here are few of the things we did over there. I wish we had more time, but i count myself as lucky to be able to spend even just a day there..When we arrived in cairo after 6 hours trip by van from Sharm el Sheikh where we were actually staying at that time, we had to wait for about two hours before our tourguide arrived. He was late and blamed it on the traffic and started his fully memorized banter about this and that. Despite of his tardiness, we enjoyed this guide who loved explaining just even the most inconsequential details i guess about just everything. Still we had fun as he showed us and tried hard to explain to us everything from outside the egypts museum until inside. We couldn't bring our cameras inside so all the things that we saw in there are just left in our memory now. :(
After the museum he took us for lunch at this tent restaurant set beside the nile river. I couldn't believe that it was actually the nile river and i was really excited. Yet despite the excitement, i couldn't really understand all the food that was in the buffet. I was hungry so i devoured all that i can anyhow. hehehe..
We then took off towards the pyramids of giza after lunch. It was hot but endurable. So at the first sight of the pyramids, me and my companions were ecstatic. We had fun checking each boulders that was used for the pyramids and couldn't believe that each boulder were almost as tall as us. Hard to imagine how all those servants brought all those stones one on top of each other. ewww..pitiable really.. but somehow, happy that they did it..amazed, i guess should be the right word.
Far from the pyramids, we all haggled with the locals who rented two wonderful camels to us for a few egypt pounds. And so after a few minutes, we were able to enjoy riding two very tall camels that i thought i was riding a building hahaha.. While riding, i tried so hard to imagine the life of women during those times or even these times i guess, who have to ride camels throughout the deserts..whew, quite a hard life huh..
Then we all went nearby the sphinx and met more tourist just sitting nearby. And more are taking pics. I heard you could actually go back in the evening and watch a nice light show by the pyramids. Could be lovely, isn't it. mmm, sadly we had to go back the very same day.
After the pyramids, we were then taken to shopping for egypt perfumes. I couldn't remember anymore if we bought any hahaha..But i think we bought some real original papyrus. Cool eh!
And after deciding that it was time for us to go back, the tour guide tried hard to tell us to get on a boat at the nile river and watch a belly dance performance while having dinner. It was hard to say no, but we had to! oh well...
enjoy the pictures, hope you can get a few ideas if ever you happen to be in Cairo, Egypt!!!

This hub was funny, and you obviously had a great time in Egypt. This read like a holiday diary journal, except the digital kind, and the photos speak for themselves. A breath of fresh air for a Holiday Hub Page. Your fun experiences make going there all the more palpable and enjoyable. Cool.
